Listening Circle for People of the Global Majority (PGM)
PGM are invited to foster belonging, empowerment, and self-compassion in community.
About the Listening Circle
People of the Global Majority include those of Black, Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern, Indigenous North & South American and Australian, First Nations, Pacific Islander, and multiracial heritage who together comprise 80% of the world’s population.
This gathering is offered as a respite from the ongoing burdens of racism carried by the hearts, minds, and bodies of PGM. After some informal socializing, we will have an opportunity to witness each other’s experiences in predominantly white environments, share the gifts and burdens of being of the global majority, and identify supportive and nourishing practices.
Feedback from this group will inform the development of future workshops for PGM on various topics such as microaggressions, transforming stories of separation and hierarchy, connecting to the more-than-human world, tending rage and grief, creative and ritual practice, cultivating purpose, and building community.
